Wednesday Song: “Where Have I Gone?”

I was doing some work on my house today, and it involved re-routing some of the plumbing. This resulted in some spilled water. I took my experience in the crawlspace under my house as a starting point for the song, but it quickly turned into a metaphor for the dark crawlspace in all of us. 🙂

Dark and soaking
Wish I was joking
Water everywhere
Is this my place
A darkened crawlspace
But still I would not dare

Stand there upright
In the sunlight
Where, oh where have I gone?

I know I chose this
Suffering’s warm kiss
Keep me who I am
But you know my name
Another small game
Where you give a damn

Stand there upright
In the sunlight
Where, oh where have I gone?

Will you save me?
I am crazy
I am feeling sad
All that horse shit
I said I loved it
But I am still so mad

Stand there upright
In the sunlight
Where, oh where have I gone?
