Wednesday Song: “More Than Just Friends”

Thanks to 2 inches of snow, Atlanta is shut down, and I’ve found myself spending another day in the Bay Area. Delta’s switchboards were so overwhelmed, I used up all of my cell phone minutes, but at least I got a direct flight home tomorrow. Also, I was warm and indoors.

I thought I’d start with my situation now for this song. It then evolved into a cute little love song. I don’t have some little crush I’m going off to meet for lunch today, but I liked the idea of someone being stranded in a city and falling in love.

Waking me up, changing my flight
I guess I can stay here for the night
I got nowhere to go
All of the cars, out in the cold
The traffic is hell, or so I’m told
Guess I’ll stick with what I know

I’ll meet you for lunch and
I have got a hunch that
We could maybe be more than just friends

It’s something that I, I guess that I knew
It’s not like I got something to do
So why don’t we just try it and see?
Who cares about doubts, that’s what it’s about
Talk off work, so we can hang out
Spend and hour or two or three

I’ll meet you for lunch and
I have got a hunch that
We could maybe be more than just friends

I have never just stayed
For one more day
But something tells me that I
Might like it better this way

Let’s live in the now, day by day
The rest of it all can just melt away
Nothing to lose, nowhere to fall
Tell me about whatever you feel
I know this is fast, so here is the deal
I want to hear it all

I’ll meet you for lunch and
I have got a hunch that
We could maybe be more than just friends
