Tuesday Song: “You Don’t Care”

I guess much of this song is based on a dream I had last night. It’s about regret for those relationships long past that you still think about from time to time.

When I woke up in the fields
You were lying there
Voices carried far away
I know that you don’t care

The fields were golden, full from the grain
The smell was in the air
We could see so far away
I know that you don’t care

So much that I
Never could say
Now I wish the
Words could go away

Were you hungover, or were you insane?
You gave me quite a scare
The words you said, stuck in my brain
I know that you don’t care

So I looked back out at the fields
Sad and self-aware
Will we ever talk again?
I know that you don’t care

So much that I
Never could say
Now I wish the
Words could go away
