Saturday Song: “When I Go”

Today’s song is about all the times in my life I’ve felt under-appreciated.  I’m sure there was always an element of me not appreciating myself, but we don’t need to go there today.  🙂

I am a stranger in my own damn house
Creeping around like a small scared mouse
I used to think that it was all my place
Now I’m leaving just to save my face

Simply stated, I am a wreck
I wanna get on a plane to fly me away

I try every day to make you say
“I love you, I need you so”
Well, you’ll appreciate how amazingly great
I am when I go

I clean up your dishes, I wash your clothes
Pay for the bills and the garden hose
All of my life I thought that I was strong
Guess I was kidding myself all along

Simply stated, I am a wreck
I wanna get on a plane to fly me away

I try every day to make you say
“I love you, I need you so”
Well, you’ll appreciate how amazingly great
I am when I go

So goodbye to you, my friend
I guess this is the end
Good luck with life here on your own
Hope you’re not waiting or anticipating
That you’ll hear from me on the phone

I try every day to make you say
“I love you, I need you so”
Well, you’ll appreciate how amazingly great
I am when I go
