Friday Song: “Hemispheres”

In honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s another un-ironic love song. The guitar was unavailable today, so I wrote this on the bouzouki (the most romantic instrument of all?).

I don’t know my face
I don’t know my name
Everything
All looks the same, it’s true
I thought I could say
Who I was
And now I don’t know
I guess that’s because of you

None of these words
Make any sense
I’ll give it all up
I’ll end the suspense
For you

I am here
Here and now
The hemispheres
We circle round
It’s true
We’re still wrapped around
There are no words
But there is a sound

Maybe it’s real
Maybe it’s kind
We all need a chance
To just unwind a bit
‘Cause I can hold on
To everything
I know you can, too
Sometimes you just cling to it

What is love?
Is it just a routine?
Well I don’t know
What does it mean
To you?

I am here
Here and now
The hemispheres
We circle round
It’s true
We’re still wrapped around
There are no words
But there is a sound
