Alas, all things must come to an end. When I started this song-a-day project 64 days ago, I had spent several months waiting for my house here in Atlanta to sell. My life had been on hold, and as I sat here spending my dwindling resources, I thought this would be a fun project to do and share with the world. But now my house is selling (closing on Friday) and I’m living in a world of boxes and packing. Before, I had been made of time. Now, not so much.
As I embark on the next chapter of my life (whatever it may be), I imagine I will still keep writing songs, and I’ll try to post them here when I can. I plan to keep all the songs I’ve written here on my website for the foreseeable future, so feel free to browse through them, if you like.
Thank you to everyone who has listened to the songs. Literally every time I posted one, I thought, “This is the worst piece of crap ever.” I say that, not to elicit sympathy or support from you, but to show you that that inner critic we all have is not always right. If you should embark upon writing a song – or any other creative project – remember that if it feels like you’re creating “the worst piece of crap”, you’re probably on the right track.
