For this song, I had an image in my head of a soldier going out on a night mission that he does’t expect to come back from. It was somewhere in a jungle – maybe an American soldier in Vietnam? Continue reading

For some reason, this one came out much more “folky” sounding than usual. It’s about how I always want something that’s not quite here in front of me. And here’s today’s song. This was inspired by one of today’s Humans of New York posts.
I’ve been trying to write a song a day, and I’ve decided to start sharing them as I write them. I make no promises about the quality of the songs (only the quantity). Here’s one I wrote today – it was inspired when a friend posted a quote from an Anne Carson poem, “I want to be unbearable.”
